F.A.Q. for PDF Reader Pro Edition for iPad

Some photos/images are missing on my PDF file or I can only see blank pages on my PDF file:

(If you update your iPad to iOS this issue will be resolved)

We tested our application with hundreds of PDF files without any problems but we recently found some rare cases in which the pictures will not show on the application, our developers were able to identify the problem and is related to the JPEG2000 image compression. This compression is used in some PDF files and this type of compression is not currently supported by the iPad OS, we already notified Apple about this issue. If you have a Mac computer, there is an easy way to fix this issue, open the PDF file using preview on your Mac, go to the file menu and select "Save As", and save the file as a new PDF, the new PDF file will work fine with our application and with any other iPad application that supports PDF files.

I can only see scrambled text:

This problem is related to the iPad operating system, for some reason it doesn't correctly decode some particular fonts, showing a scrambled text. We already notified Apple about this issue.

I can’t go back to the main menu because the top bar has disappeared:

The application has a feature called “Full Screen” mode that is enabled on the setting page, when this option is enabled the top bar will disappear to have a better reading experience, just press with 2 fingers on the middle of the screen to make the top bar appear again.

Some large PDF files take a lot of time to open or it takes a lot of time to render each page:

The problem may be related to the memory limitations of the iPad or there may be a compatibility issue, there are certain PDF encoding softwares that are not 100 % iOS compatible causing a lot of different issues,  there is an easy way to fix this issue, open the PDF file using preview on your Mac, go to the file menu and select "Save As", and save the file as a new PDF, the new PDF file will work fine with our application and with any other iPad application that supports PDF files.

The Search feature doesn’t work on some PDF files:

Some PDF files are scanned images, these files have no text context they are just pictures of an actual text.
Some PDF files use a very complex algorithm that can cause some problems when using the search feature.

Some PDF files just crashed the application:

The problem may be related to the memory limitations of the iPad, we tested our application with files larger than 1GB without any problem but some PDF files with a lot of images and graphics can cause that problem because the file uses all the available memory to render each page causing the application to crash.

I can’t move my PDF files inside a folder:

Unfortunately the USB sharing option from iTunes doesn’t allow you to transfer a PDF file inside a folder, you need to move your files directly from the application.
If you have a Mac computer you can download PDFSync from our website, PDFSync is a free Mac desktop application that will allow you to move, manage and backup entire folders and files to our application.

When I attach a PDF file or PDF form to my email I can't see the annotations or the information I typed on the fields:

When the PDF file/PDF form is attached to your email you won't see the annotations on the native email application but the information is still there and it will be available when you open the PDF file/PDF form on your computer or on your iPad with an application that supports annotations and PDF forms (like our app).

F.A.Q. for NotePad Pro for iPad

I can only see part of the page on landscape mode:

When you are on landscape mode you can easily scroll up or down, to scroll up or down just swipe up or down on the right side of the screen (the dark brown desk) and the page will scroll up or down.

I can’t go back to the first page:

On the latest version of NotePad Pro for iPad we changed how to move from one page to another, now you need to swipe left or right with 2 fingers to move from one page to another (we changed this function based on our customers feedback and suggestions), there is an option on the main screen under the settings button that will allow you to choose between using the swiping gesture or using 2 arrows that will appear on the note.

The Audio recording is too big to send by email:

In this case you need to use the USB sharing feature from iTunes to transfer your audio recording to your computer.
